Face Implants

Face Implants in Durango & Pagosa Springs, CO

Genetic (congenital) deformities and normal aging may cause facial structures such as bone may be misshapen or appear less full. As a result, asymmetry of the face may result. To enhance the appearance of the face, facial implants may be considered to correct asymmetries or enhance normal anatomic structures to restore volume loss. If you are considering facial implants, a temporary technique such as filler (i.e., Juvederm®, Restylane®, Voluma®, Volbella®) may be recommended to help the patient appreciate the results before a permanent implant is placed.

Implantation of small implants such as lip implants may be performed in the office under local anesthetic. For the implantation of larger implants such as cheek (malar) implants, sedation or general anesthesia are typically preferred.

For facial implants, downtime is generally minimal, and low to moderate activity level is recommended for 5 to 7 days postoperatively.
